As the tobacco industry continues to glamorize smoking and target youth to replace their dwindling customer base, some still fall for the trap. In response, the Youth Action Network (YAN) is once again leading its annual anti-tobacco campaign on April 1st – Fool’s Day, under the powerful theme:
“Wishing a Happy Birthday to the Few Who Still Smoke.”
This year too, in the lead-up to April 1st, youth and volunteers across the country are conducting poster campaigns to raise awareness. The campaign calls on the public to reflect on how smokers are still being misled—and encourages action to help change that, one life at a time.
